Türkiye, 1986
Made while traveling across Türkiye in 1986, this early body of work marks a formative moment. Moving through streets, homes, religious spaces, and rural landscapes, the photographs observe how identity, ritual, labor, and belonging are carried through everyday life.
Seen now, the work is less a record of place than an early study of the public self — how people inhabit tradition, modernity, family, and social expectation.
